To aware the masses about the ill effect of drugs & to promote the traditional culture of J&K, BhartiyaLokSangeet Kala Sansthanin close coordination with SangeetNatak Academy , New Delhi, presented its 271TH Saturday seriesdogri musical play”SahraDuggar”on the theme of “DRUG ABUSE& MENACE OF DOGRA MARRIAGE” at open air theatre DurgaBhawanJanipur, Jammu today.The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh. Bharat Bhushan ,Director Social Welfare, where as Mrs.ArchanaKumari, CAO, & Sh. Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal , Asstt. Directorboth from the Directorate of social welfare depptt. , J&k Govt. were Guest of Honors. The programewas speciallyfocused on the themes of Drug deaddiction, eradication of social evils like Child Marriage, illiteracy,BetiBachaoBetiPadhao etc. The Cultural Programe comprising of songs, skits and dances like “NashaNaiKarioMundeKureio”,” BachoBachoTobacoo Kola Bacho”, “BetiBachaoBetiPadhao”, “Bari KharabChutki” , “NahinPiya Tobacco Balma” , “Mangalgeets”, were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guesthighlighted the dangers of drug abuse and it’s illegal trade with special reference to alarming trends in J&K state .The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of artists of Blsks in creating awareness among the people in their dialects through such cultural programs. It was disclosed Mr.R.S.Jamwal Assistant Director has been nominated as Nodal Officer, Drug Demand Reduction of Jammu Division to aware the ill effects of drug addictions.
Welcome speech was given by Sh. M.L.Dogra, Chairman, BhartiyaLokSangeet Kala Sansthan who called upon the youth to come forward in making our state healthy, wealthy and prosperous &stressed for extracting the maximum attention of the masses especially addicted population who suffered from the use of tobacco , tobacco products, alcohol and other such habit forming agents i.e. Cocaine, Morphine, Heroin, etc.Mr. Dogra also said drug abuse can make one sickcause depression,personality and thought disorder.
V.K.Magotra, MD-Blskshighlighted on the occasion the importance of folk , traditional art specially related to “Dogra Marriages” for reviving our old traditions.Mr. Magotra also called u[on the stake holders/ govt. agencies to join hands in eradiating all evils from the society through such awareness programs.The singers ,musician ,actors and students of Music and Computer institute who performed in the musical play wereUshaHandoo, J.K.Raina, KuldeepRaj, Chahat Chadha, Rajni Gupta, K.K.Joshi, Raju Bajgal, Tilak Raj, Kamladevi, NeelamGandotra.
