District Administration Samba today organised a comprehensive citizen awareness program at Panchayat Ghar Palli, bringing together multiple government departments to educate residents about crucial welfare schemes and services.
Led by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, the event featured interactive stalls and sessions from Agriculture, Health, Social Welfare, Employment, Handicrafts and Handloom, Animal Husbandry departments among others.
Key highlights included a Special TB awareness campaign with the launch of Nikshay Vahan—a TB awareness vehicle and explanation of ABHA card benefits by the Health Department. In appreciation of the Agriculture Department’s activities in the district, the Deputy Commissioner awarded four sanction letters for construction of low-cost polyhouses. A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness session was also carried out to encourage a participative democracy.
“Our goal is to ensure every citizen understands and benefits from government initiatives,” said Deputy Rajesh Sharma, emphasising the importance of community engagement and departmental collaboration.
Senior district officers and a large number of locals participated in this landmark community outreach program.
