A district-level awareness workshop was organised today here at ITI Doda under the aegis of Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela.
Aimed at promoting apprenticeship for ITI Trained, the event formed part of the “Kushal Bharat, Viksit Bharat” initiative under the Skill India Mission.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sudershan Kumar inaugurated the workshop.
Earlier, Er. Naresh Singh, Superintendent of ITI welcomed the chief guest along with staff and enthusiastic students from the institute.
In his inaugural address, ADC encouraged participants to take full advantage of the government’s apprenticeship scheme and the benefits available to economically weaker sections. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives in fostering skill development and self-reliance, ensuring that youth from all backgrounds can benefit.
During the workshop, students were introduced to the Government of India’s apprenticeship portal, which allows them to register and explore various apprenticeship opportunities nationwide. The event served as a valuable orientation, with officials guiding students on the application process and encouraging them to engage actively with the portal to enhance their professional skills.
The event witnessed participation from notable guests, including J&K Bank Zonal Manager Bua Ditta, Doda Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mairaj Khalid Banday, and other dignitaries. ADC urged all attendees to act as ambassadors for these skill development schemes, advocating their benefits within their communities to drive broader participation.
