The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in pursuance of directions from J&K State Legal Services Authority organised an Orientation-Induction-Refresher Training Programme for Para Legal Volunteers (PLV) of District Anantnag and Kulgam today at Conference Hall Dak Bungalow Anantnag.
The programme was supervised by Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA,) Anantnag Rafia Hassan Khaki.
In her introductory speech, Secretary DLSA Anantnag extended a warm welcome to the master trainers and PLVs and said that PLVs are the main workforce for the legal service authorities and success of legal service authorities depends upon how a well trained and active team of PLVs they have. She said that the aim of such a training programme is to equip the PLVs with the necessary skills to perform their duties efficiently to ensure access to justice at doorsteps. She added that the said training programmes of PLVs concentrate on basic human values like compassion, empathy and basic willingness to serve weaker sections of the society voluntarily.
Master Trainer Advocate Ufera Rashid gave an introduction about Legal Aid and spoke in detail about Role of PLVs and also acquainted the PLVs about various skills that are required in the dispensation of justice. Master Trainer Advocate Jyoti Sharma in her presentation spoke about the Role and Duties of PLVs, Senior Citizens Act and various Schemes meant for weaker sections of the Society. In addition, the PLVs shared their experiences and success stories
Secretary DLSA presented the vote of thanks and expressed her satisfaction with the training programme.
