Jammu and Kashmir Police wrestler, Nisar Ahmed of Doda emerged winner of the 21st Shiv Khori Kesari Dangal which was organised by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department and Shiv Khori Dangal Committee at Government High School Ransoo in district Reasi.
In the final, Nisar defeated Suresh of Pathankot in Punjab. Title winner Nisar awarded with Rs 9,000 cash prize while runners-up, Suresh received Rs 6,000.
This Dangal was part of the three-day annual Shiv Khori Mela.
Second bout went to Ajay Sharma of Udhampur, who defeated Akash of Goal Bagh Stadium Amritsar. Ajay got Rs 8,000 while Akash presented with Rs 5,000 cash prize. In third main bout, Kaka of RS Pura in Jammu trounced Sheru of Pathankot.
To introduce women competition in local dangals, for the first time a women bout held between Arfana Akhtar of Pouni and Poonam of Saloon. Afrana won the bout.
The event held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style
Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Kewal Krishan.
Former Minister, Ajay Nanda was chief guest while former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Speaking to the gathering, Shiv Kumar Sharma thanked Director Tourism Jammu, Om Parkash Bhagat for financial assistance of Rs one lakh from the department for dangal.
Shiv Sharma said Dangals keep the youth away from many bad habits like
drug addiction and inculcate principles of self discipline in them.

In all, 36 bouts decided during the competition.
The Results: Vijay of Bain Bajalta beat Liquat Ali of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu, Nadeem of Doda beat Surjeet Singh of Narkote, Parladh Singh of Kakakote beat Shamsher Singh of Pathankot, Ali of Kathua beat Dalbir of Mahore, Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Mohd. Sadiq of Domana Akhara, Bablu of Basantgarh beat Murad Ali of Nagrota, Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu beat Salman of Chopra Shop Udhjampur, Munner of Nagrota beat Vicky of Pathankot.
