Dogra Law College today organised a Panchayat visit for the students of B.A LLB, 5years, 6th semester. The visit was a part of their academic curriculum. Students visited the Panchayat of Chak Jarlan, where they met the Sarpanch Sh. Jatinder Singh, the sarpanch of seven villages.
During the interaction with the students, he explained them different functions of the panchayat and briefed them about the role which Panchayat plays in the life of the villagers.
He also gave an insight into the steps that the Panchayat takes to solve the disputes of the people and to help them resolve their issues.
Sarpanch also discussed about the government funds being provided for the development of the villages.
He also told the students about different government aided development schemes which help in the upliftment of the villagers.
All this information was very much beneficial for the students, as they got to know about the grass root level functioning of the Panchayat. Ms. Etika Gupta, Ms. Sumiksha Razdan and Mr. Ramnik Bali, lecturers, Dogra Law College accompanied the students during the visit.
