Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today urged the people to teach BJP a lesson for their misdeeds with Jammuites by voting Congress candidates in upcoming DDC elections. While conducting series of public meetings in favour of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kour at Gusain Chak he said, that time has come to teach BJP a lesson.Prominent among those present on the occasion include Block President Sodagar Singh Saini, Block President Amrit Bali, Sarpanch Avtar Singh, Corportor Shobat Choudhary, Ashok Kumar, Pawan Bhagat, Darshan Motton, Ravi Pal, Panch Bittu, Jasbir Singh, Sunil Slathia beside others.He said Congress will regain its lost ground in the upcoming DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir by defeating the communal and divisive forces in the country. “People should remain guard against the forces that pose a challenge to the basic idea of India and secularism promoted by the Congress. Congress workers should be ready to defeat the designs of the communal and divisive forces in the country. He said Congress has made huge contributions and sacrifices for unity and integrity of country will never compromise to retain this at any cost.”Since its formation the party has remained committed to the principle of secularism and socialism and for strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation. “It was the Congress party under whose banner the entire country irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion joined hands and fought against the mighty British rule”, he said, the party provided the much- needed able leadership to the country that resulted in the country emerging as one of the great powers in the world.
My perception and understanding of the situation is that Congress will emerge as the largest party in the next assembly elections,” he said.
“The Congress is the only secular and unifying force and it will continue to safeguard the secular fabric of the country and the state,” he added. He said his party always stood for equal development of J&K as well as the strengthening of democratic institutions for devolution of power to the people for their better participation in governance.”Congress struggled for the implementation of the provision of 73rd and 74th amendments in the state to fully empower the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and finally it succeeded,” he said.”It is the result of the amended law that women have got 33 per cent reservation in all tiers of PRIs besides Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes,” he said. “I want to remind BJP about the promises made by BJP in Jammu during the election in 2014 which have fallen flat,” he said. “What happened to those promises, have they fulfilled any single promise during their rule Bhalla 3 questioned and asked the people to give a befitting reply to BJP and other opportunist forces for exploiting them and playing with their emotions, from time to time,” he said. “BJP is in habit of playing religious & emotional cards for electoral gains and emphasized the people to defeat their nefarious designs to ensure the victory of Congress party with a thumping majority,” Bhalla urged people to forge unity and ensure victory of Congress Candidates, for the fact, it is the Congress Party alone which has the capability of safeguarding the interests of the people, besides ensuring that they do not suffer further on account of employment and others facilities they deserve. Former Minister described Congress party as “strong” and “vibrant” in J&K, capable enough to defeat anti-people forces in the country and that Congress Party has never compromised on its ideology, principles for the sake of power.He said the party shall remain committed to the cause of strengthening people and working for the peace, progress and overall development of the State. He said that the Congress “alone” stands guarantee to secular fabric, diversity and unity in the country.He said the party will remain committed to fight and defeat the “fascist”, “communal” forces posing threat to secular fabric of the country.
He said, the country is “in great danger under BJP rule.” Bhalla felt confident that people have “realized that it is the Congress party, which has never sacrificed its ideology for power, rather it always preferred to remain out of power.”He said Jammu and Kashmir was a symbol of unity and multiplicity, “but since the BJP assumed power, the things started worsening and attempts were made to pollute secular fabric and unity in the state.”
Urging people to exercise their franchise in favour of the Congress Party Candidates to ensure defeat of communal forces, Bhalla said that the upcoming DDC Election has provided best opportunity for people to defeat the political exploitation on the Part of BJP and other opportunist forces.He said that Congress Party will continue to fight against the forces inimical to peace and development of the State, he also appealed the people to vote for Congress Party to keep communal forces at bay. He urged the people to forge unity on all fronts to ensure the defeat of fascist and disruptive forces. He said people should not forget as to what BJP has done during their six years rule in the country, they were feeling insecure under BJP Rule in the Country, he said. BJP has brought miseries and exploited people on various counts for votes, but at the sometimes, Bhalla felt confident that people will defeat the politics of exploitation on the part of BJP and other forces to ensure the victory of secular forces in the Country. Lashing out at the previous BJP government over adding woes to people, Bhalla reminded that since the BJP assumed power in the State, things have gone from bad to worse, harassment of innocent people has been the hallmark of BJP govt. Despite the contradiction in their approach they enjoyed poor and continued to fool people on sensitive issues, he said.
