Students of Delhi Public School Jammu made the school proud by achieving an impressive second position in the prestigious “Planet Innovate: Integrating Tech and Nature Exhibition” as part of the Inter-DPS National Environmental Festival 2024, held at DPS Chandigarh on October 6th and 7th. Organized under the aegis of The DPS Society, New Delhi, the event brought together the brightest minds from 70 DPS branches across India, where DPS Jammu was selected among the top 20 teams for the final round, following a rigorous Preliminary Elimination Round (Online Quiz). The quiz selection was based on both speed and accuracy, making their qualification a notable achievement.The Planet Innovateexhibition provided students with a unique platform to explore real-world environmental issues, deepen their knowledge of science and technology, and propose innovative solutions to critical environmental challenges. Representing DPS Jammu, Charvi Gupta and Samiksha Rai presented a ground-breaking project titled “Ember to Words,” which tackled road pollution by capturing vehicular emissions and converting them into usable ink. Their solution demonstrated the use of a Smoke Absorber equipped with an IR Sensor to detect vehicles and absorb harmful pollutants, which were then processed to form ink-a creative way to turn a pressing environmental problem into a valuable resource. Charvi and Samiksha’s display received high praise from the expert judging panel for its ingenuity and real-world applicability. In addition to Charvi and Samiksha, the other talented students who represented DPS Jammu at various events in the Inter-DPS National Science Festival were ChitraniRazdan, DhwaniJakhotra, Vaidik Taggar, Prasan Sharma, Bavleen Kour, Prikshit Sharma, Ayn Bhola, and ManyaTargotra. Their participation aimed to inspire environmental consciousness and promote innovative thinking towards a sustainable future. All participants received certificates in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the competition.Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, commended the outstanding performance of the students and extended heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated team of teachers who mentored and guided them throughout the competition, including Ms. Insha Ahmed, Ms. Preeti Sharma, Mr. Suresh Sharma, Ms. Manika Verma, Mr. Mandeep Singh, Ms. Deepika Saini, Mr. Akshay Gupta, and Dr. Gurmeet Kour.Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chairperson, Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S. Sodhi Ji also extended their hearty congratulations to the students and the faculty. They expressed deep pride in the school’s achievement, acknowledged the invaluable support of parents, and wished the students continued success in all their future endeavours.
