Delhi Public School, Kathua, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti with great enthusiasm and spirit, specifically engaging the students of Classes I and II in various activities. The event was aimed at imparting the timeless teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri to young minds, focusing on the principles of truth, non-violence, cleanliness, and patriotism.A highlight of the celebrations was a rally held within the school campus, where young students carried vibrant placards featuring slogans that promoted Swachh Bharat and reiterated the teachings of both revered leaders. Through their participation, the students actively raised awareness about the importance of cleanliness and sustainability, echoing Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a clean and self-reliant nation. They also learned about Lal Bahadur Shastri’s values of simplicity, humility, and service to the country. The event, conceptualized by Chief Coordinator Ms. Rimjhim Wazir and Kindergarten Coordinator Ms. Jyoti Katoch, was meticulously planned to ensure that the students could actively engage in the activities while learning important life lessons. The teachers played a pivotal role in guiding the children, helping them understand the values of the two great leaders. Classroom discussions were held, emphasizing how the principles of truth and non-violence can be integrated into daily life. By relating these teachings to real-life examples, the students were encouraged to adopt these values from a young age.The rally served as a moving tribute to both Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
