KATRA (Reasi), July 14:
A deputation of Municipal Committee (MC) Katra and prominent businessmen, social activists submitted a memorandum to visiting Union Minister, Dr Jatindera Singh asking him to help further beautify the Holy town of Katra in district Reasi.
The memorandum was submitted to the MOS in PMO by vice president of MC Katra, Ajay Baru, who was accompanied besides others by prominent businessman, social activist and sports promoter, Shiv Kumar Sharma.During interactions with the Minister, who also represent the town as Member Parliament (MP), prominent citizens of Katra asked for taking up the beautification of upper bus stand area near fountain on the lines of those famous spots of Mall Road in Shimla and Rajiv Chowk in New Delhi so as to attract the attention of the visiting guests.Agreeing to the demand, Dr Jatindera handed over the copy of the memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib for taking up the project on priority basis. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister expressed his happiness over prominent citizens showing their activeness in development issues.Among others present were Rakesh Sadhotra, Pt Shiv Jamwal, Rajinder Mengi Rakesh Dubey and other prominent citizens.
