Dr. Mohan Lal Dogra, a multi-faceted personality in the field of Performing Art and Education ,hails from Jammu and Kashmir UT, has been honoured with the prestigious ” VISHAWA RATAN SAMMAN -2024″ award by the Founder Worthy wellness Foundation (NGO),recognized by Govt. of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.On the basis of trek record of Dr. Dogra’s excellence contribution in this field as a Director ofFolk Music & Dance.Dr. Dogra has set benchmark for the promotion of Folk Music and dance dramas, also known as Musical Plays. His exceptional work and dedication have earned him various prestigious awards, making him a true legendary icon in the world of Performing Art. Dr.Dogra’s enthusiasm and dedication in promoting India’s rich Folk Dances and Folk Songs culture have been evident in his numerous accomplishments, including the authorship of high-selling books, the creation of original Dogri songs, and the financial support he provides to hundreds of artists under his mentorship.
Dr.Dogra work experience in the Directorate of Field Publicity and Song and Drama Division ,Ministry of Information and broadcasting ,Government of India has enabled him to promote the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir , light and sound performances in national festivals like KumbhMelas, Haridwar, Allahbad ,Ladakh Festivals and SadbhavnaSamrohs and Autumn Festivals Navratra Festivals in various states of India “Dogra’s main theatre productions are MaaSheranWali, Raja Mandlik, Kathoti Main Ganga, Ram CharitManas, Bhasmasur, Doli , Rang Dari Deo in Dogri / Kamauni, Hindustani theatre style are well recognized by many reputed organsations. Dr.Dogra one of the few names of the country ,who has made a unique contribution in establishing folk Theatre workshops for children of Govt. Schools in coordination with J&K Social welfare departments , cultural performances, Musical Plays (Opera’s )Jammu and Kashmir and other states of India. He has created over three dozen Dance drama spectacles based on health and eradication of social evils which represent the ethos, aspirations of the society and started a weekend two shows called Saturday musical Play and Friday Music Concerts based on Health and to get rid of menance drug abuse which are uploaded on social media frequently. Felicitating Dr.Dogra with this award prestigious Sh.V.K.Magotra, Managing Director of BhartiyaLokSangeetKala Sansthan remarked that Dr.Dogra has added another feather in his cap and brought laurels for proud Dogras of the region.
