Bringing a wave of relief and improved connectivity for the residents of Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, officially commenced the macadamization work on the vital road stretch connecting Rehal Bazaar to Saidgarh Chowk and extending towards the Petrol Pump at Saidgarh Chowk.
This crucial infrastructure upgrade, initiated under the ambitious “Cities and Town Programme” of the Capex Budget, carries an estimated cost of Rs. 25 Lacs and is being executed by the Public Works Department (R&B) Sub Division Bishnah.
The kick-off ceremony, held amidst a palpable sense of optimism and community spirit, saw Dr. Bhagat emphasizing his unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the citizen’s Bishnah Constituency through robust infrastructure development. However, its dilapidated state, characterized by potholes and uneven surfaces, posed considerable challenges, especially during monsoons. The macadamization of this stretch is expected to bring a significant reduction in travel time, enhance road safety, and facilitate smoother movement of goods and people, thereby boosting local economic activities.
The project encompasses a comprehensive approach to road construction, involving several key components to ensure durability and longevity. It includes 0.625 Km of WMM, which forms the base layer of the road, providing a strong and stable foundation.
This will be followed by 0.675 Km of 50 MM thick Bituminous Macadam, acting as a binder course that adds structural strength. Finally, 0.775 Km of 25 MM thick SDBC will be laid as the wearing course, offering a smooth, resilient, and long-lasting surface. This layered construction approach, as explained by PWD (R&B) officials, is crucial for building a road that can withstand heavy traffic and varying weather conditions.
Present at the auspicious occasion were several prominent figures, including Mahant Ram Narayan, AEE PWD Rafiq Ahmad, Rajeev Sharma, Supinder Sharma, Captain Bodh Raj, Abhishek Khajuria, and Raghunandan Sharma, alongside numerous other esteemed members of the local community. Their presence signified the collective anticipation and support for the project, reflecting a shared vision for progress in the Bishnah constituency.
Dr. Bhagat reiterated his commitment to transforming Bishnah into a Model Constituency, assuring the public of continued efforts to address their developmental needs. He urged the executing agency, PWD (R&B), to maintain the highest standards of quality and ensure timely completion of the work, emphasizing that public welfare remains the top priority. The macadamisation of the Rehal Bazaar to Saidgarh Chowk and Petrol Pump Road is not just about laying asphalt; it symbolizes a step forward in enhancing regional connectivity and fostering a more accessible and prosperous future for the residents of Bishnah.
