JAMMU, MAY 23:
An urgent meeting of the extended working committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K, was held under the Chairmanship of Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and President DSS, at Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan, Jammu on 22 May 2018. Besides members of the Central Working Committee Prominent Muslims from Bathindi, Narwal and Sunjawan, led by Sh. Noor Alam, former Sarpanch Bathindi, participated in the meeting as special invitees. Several important and burning issues concerning Jammu particularly the intense bombardment by Pak troops along the border and consequent losses of human lives and sufferings of people living in the border belt, were deliberated. All the members of the working Committee expressed grave concern over the firing assaults by Pak Army on the innocent civilians resulting loss of life and property.
The other important issue which came up for discussion was the increasing mistrust amongst different ethnic groups of Dogras particularly Muslims and Hindus. It was felt that the historical and traditional bondage of different Communities, the Hallmark of Jammu region, was being threatened by certain forces inimical to the very idea of Dogriyat. Sh. Amanat Ali, president of Anjuman-e-Imamia and other muslim members forcefully condemned the forces acting against the age-old affinity amongst the Dogras irrespective of Caste and creed and pledged to preserve the traditional brotherhood at any cost. The President Dogra Sadar Sabha strongly warned those who were trying to divide the Dogras on communal lines and asked to understand the history and culture of Dogras and do not attempt to create differences, as such efforts will not be allowed to succeed.
All the members unanimously supported the proposal offered by the President Dogra Sadar Sabha to invite all the heads of political, Social and trade organizations of Jammu Province to sit together at a common platform and chalk out a collective strategy to defeat the nefarious designs of anti Jammu and anti Dogra forces and preserve the age old traditional amity and honour of Dogras.
Among those who participated in the press conference included Prof. N. K. Dogra, Col K. S. Jamwal, Sh. Prem Sagar Gupta, Brig. M. S. Jamwal, Sh. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Sh. Amanat Ali Shah and Dr. Raghubir Singh.
