Teams comprise Basketball, Lawn tennis, Badminton
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 7: Secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra on Tuesday flagged off three sports disciplines from Jammu, comprising of 80 players.
The sportspersons will play the Khelo India Nationals scheduled to be held at Hyderabad. The 80 sportspersons including boys and girls comprised of three sports disciplines; Basketball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton.
Speaking on the occasion, Parra wished good luck to the outgoing players and asked them to enjoy the games and come with the victory and earn laurels for the State.
“Such things provide ample opportunity of exposure to the youth of the State for showcasing their talent against the National players,” Parra said.
Earlier, the Sports Council held special coaching and competition camps under Khelo India at almost every district of the state, when more than 2000 athletes, players registered themselves with the council. After conduct of battery tests, inter- matches, finally the state teams are playing for Nationals in various disciplines under Khelo India Scheme.
