In a simple programme organised by Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corporation at its Head Office, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, handed over Payment Authority Letters (PALs) of rupees 15.97 lakh to ten beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes categories, along with Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan.
The beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes category include Krishan Lal, Dev Raj, Pawan Kumar, Avtar Krishan, Shamshar Kumar, Raghbir Lal, Shiv Om Nath, Gulshan Kumar, and Parveen Kumar and Smt. Renu Verma from BC category, hailing from different areas of Jammu and Kathua Districts.
Kavinder Gupta, on this occasion, said that with each passing year, the number of unemployed youth is going up and it is not possible for the government to provide job to everyone and hence instead of sitting idle, these people should avail the benefits of welfare schemes of the government from SC, ST, BC Development Corporation and other such agencies. He said that the government at the centre and in the state are concerned for the socio- economic upliftment of the weaker sections of the society and a number of welfare schemes have been launched for them with an objective of their welfare, development and converting their poverty into prosperity.
He also appreciated the efforts of the VC and his team of the Corporation for making people aware about the welfare schemes.
Vice- Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, stressed upon these beneficiaries to set up their earning units at the earliest and become self dependent and also pay their monthly installments of the loaned amount in time.
Corporation, FA/CAO, Mohd. Yaseen, General Manager, Ghulam Qadir Khatana, Manager Projects, Mohd Iqbal Kataria, Manager Recoveries, Kasturi Lal Bhagat, Manager Finance, Anil Gupta, District Managers Joginder Paul Atri and K.K Bhagat were present on the occasion.
