JAMMU, MAY 29:
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma today called for creating mass awareness about the economic reservation to enable the eligible lot to take the benefit of the government scheme. The Divisional Commissioner was speaking at a meeting with revenue authorities convened to review progress in the issuance of Economically Weaker Section certificates in districts of Jammu division. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner, Pankaj Magotra, Assistant Commissioner Jammu, Chander Parkash and all Tehsildars of district Jammu while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with other concerned officers participated through video conferencing. The Div Com sought details of applications received for issuance of EWS certificates, number of certificates issued so far and number of applications in process. It was informed that 48 applications were received and 47 were cleared in Ramban, 8 applications were received and 4 were disposed of in Reasi, 19 were received and 9 certificates were issued in Udhampur, 36 applied in Kathua and 16 were provided certificates so far. The Div Com directed the Tehsildars and Deputy Commissioners to organize camps and aware people about the EWSs so that the eligible persons can avail the benefits of the government policy. He directed the authorities to issue the certificates after proper verifications and issue certificates to persons who fulfill the parameters set by government.
