Eight killed in bus accident in Himachal

At least eight people were killed and 11 others injured, some critical, when a private bus veered off the road in Sirmaur district at Nei-Neti village on the Solan-Pulwahal road on Sunday.
According to eyewitnesses, the axle broke, a tyre of the bus came out and it rolled down into a deep gorge. A large number of villagers gathered at the spot and took out six bodies with the help of big earth movers. The injured have been admitted to Solan district hospital.
A woman and a child died on the way to the hospital. There were around 26 passengers in the bus, said Police SHO Balwant Singh, at the site of the accident.
Six killed at Theog-Chaila road
In another accident on Sunday forenoon, all six occupants of a car lost their lives in Kholgali on when it skidded off the road in the anterior Shimla district. The dead included two women.
The victims belonged to Sunni tehsil in rural Shimla. The site of the mishap is a high accident-prone area according to locals. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, said the police.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has deeply mourned the deaths in two accidents and has assured all help to the injured. He has also expressed grief on the death of Gulab Singh, a PWD employee who was earlier injured in the recent Kasauli shooting following a demolition drive. Gulab died on Sunday morning in PGI Chandigarh. The Chief Minister had gone to visit him at the hospital a few days back.
