Jammu, Dec 30:
DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today inaugurated three significant development works under the DDC and PRI Components at Panchayat Barn, Tehsil Jammu. The projects are aimed at improving infrastructure and promoting the well-being of the local community.
Among the key initiatives, the highlight was the commencement of the Protection Wall construction at the playground in Panchayat Barn. The development of the ground will serve as an important step toward promoting sports and physical activities for the youth of the region. Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairman emphasized the critical need to protect the youth from the rising drug menace. He said, “The rising challenge of drug addiction among our youth is a matter of grave concern. This playground will not only serve as a space for sports and physical activities but will also provide a safe and productive environment for the youth, steering them away from negative influences.”
Bharat Bhushan also mentioned that the development of the playground aligns with the objectives of the PM Modi’s “Khelo India” initiative, which seeks to engage and inspire young people in sports.
“By creating facilities like this, we are fostering a culture of sportsmanship and helping our youth unlock their potential in various sporting disciplines,” he added.
The DDC Chairman also expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his continued commitment to the welfare of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir. “Under the leadership of LG Sinha, the J&K administration is dedicated to providing better opportunities and resources for the younger generation,” said Bodhi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several local officials, PRI members, and community representatives, all of whom expressed their support for the ongoing development initiatives in the region.
