The stunt of government to enhance the retirement age of professors working in government Degree Colleges of the state has created restlessness in the minds of educated unemployed youth.
This was stated by Dr Vikas Sharma, State President National Secular Forum (NSF) in a press conference held today who castigated the present state dispensation for giving rise to resentment amongst the youth for blocking avenues of educated young persons in getting employment.
He said that generally the anti youth policies of the government lead to disturb the young generation, who make tireless efforts to attain higher qualifications in different fields and virtually made to suffer.
He questioned the sagacity of the government to enhance retirement age of faculty members in Higher Education Department from 60 years to 62 years .
He added that already there is acute scarcity of employment opportunities in the state and enhancement of retirement age up-to 62 years is manifestation of government mindset to discourage induction of well educated and fresh talented young persons in the higher education department.
Dr.Vikas pointed out that on the one hand highly educated contractual lectures are languishing for permanent adjustment in the department as also NET/SELT aspirants yearning to get employment and on the other hand, government is contemplating the enhancement of retirement age of professors to 62, who have already spent decades in the job.
Dr.Vikas appealed the Governor administration, especially the Governor to direct the state administration to withdraw the said proposal immediately otherwise NSF shall be constrained to launch and intensify agitation to protect the interests of educated youth.
Among those who were present in the press conference included Papinder Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Manmohan singh and sahil sharma.
