KISHTWAR, MAY 12: –
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori urged the Governor administration to ensure all basic amenities to the people during the Holy month of Ramadan, saying District administrations should ensure price stability of essential commodities.
Mr. Saroori while chairing the meetings at his residence Kishtwar, saying special care should be taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri, Iftaar and Taraweeh.
He urged the authorities of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) to ensure availability and essential commodities including rice, sugar and atta at their sale centres where still two months ration is yet to be distributed among consumers.
He also urged them to intensify market checking and ensure that consumers are not cheated by black marketers and profiteers.
Mr. Saroori said that the administration should ensure adequate drinking water and medicare facilities for the holy month of Ramzan. He said that a fool-proof mechanism should be put in place to provide better amenities to people during Ramadan.
He also urged the authorities to ensure proper cleanliness, sanitation and other related facilities in Kishtwar, Doda districts and other areas & especially in and around mosques and shrines.
Congress State Vice President further asked to depute area specific flying squads in various markets to ensure price stability, besides that all DC’s should make public the specific phone numbers where the common masses can lodge their complaint against any irregularity, black marketing or price rise.
