Mohan Lal Bhagat, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Akhnoor Assembly constituency and former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), addressed large gatherings today in Sunail, Balgara, and Daskal. Several prominent leaders were present at the event, including BJP leader Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Assembly Co-Coordinator Surinder Singh, District President of SC Morcha Dev Raj Bhagat, Mandal President Sham Singh, Sarpanch Prashant Sharma, Sarpanch Ratna Lal, Naveen Sharma, and Shotu Pawar.
While addressing the gathering, Mohan Lal Bhagat reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the promises made in the BJP manifesto. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has delivered on its promises, the most significant being the abrogation of Article 370. This historic decision has brought peace and stability to the Kashmir region. He highlighted the fact that strikes, stone-pelting, and pro-Pakistan slogans are no longer heard in Kashmir.
Bhagat urged the people to vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections, stating that only a strong and stable government can lead Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of development. He assured that once the BJP forms the government, the compensation for lands acquired by the Defense Department will be provided to the rightful owners at the earliest. Additionally, he promised to strengthen the region’s electricity infrastructure and review the functionality of smart meters to provide relief to the public from rising electricity bills.
Mandal President Sham Singh praised Mohan Lal Bhagat, noting, “Mohan Lal Bhagat has served the nation with honesty and dedication throughout his career. He took voluntary retirement two years before his due date to fully dedicate himself to public service. His administrative experience will greatly benefit both the party and the people.”
BJP leader Bharat Bhushan Gupta also called on the public to strengthen the BJP, stating, “On one side, we have parties advocating for the release of stone-pelters and the abolition of the Public Safety Act (PSA), and on the other, we have the Bharatiya Janata Party, working for the security and integrity of the nation. It is a matter of pride for Akhnoor to have a leader like Mohan Lal Bhagat, who is honest and visionary, and will lead the region towards progress.”
All the leaders present at the event urged the public to work tirelessly to ensure Mohan Lal Bhagat’s victory in the upcoming elections.
