Ex-Central Paramilitary Force Welfare Association Jammu and Kashmir (UT) celebrated its 12th Annual Day at Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Hall, Kotli Shah Doula, R S Pura, here today wherein various demands and problems of the retired Paramilitary personnel were highlighted.
The programme started with paying floral tributes to the soldiers who were martyred in terrorist attacks. Ex-personnel from Paramilitary forces, their family members and dependents were also present in the meeting.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar while on the occasion Chief Patron Harinder Mahajan and Chief Guest, Dalip Kumar Ex-BDC Chairman honoured the Veer Naris and Ex- Central Paramilitary force personnel.
On the occasion, Chairman All India Confederation of Ex. Central Paramilitary Forces, V.K Sharma highlighted day to day problems being faced by the paramilitary force personals
He advocated for One Rank One Pension (DROP), improving medical facilities to be on par with those provided to Army personnel, access to CSD canteen facilities, universalization of facilities and assistance to Ex-Servicemen at par with those provided to personnel across India, including the provision of Rs 8500 assistance for the cremation of Ex. Servicemen from Paramilitary forces, especially noting the lack of funds provided by BSF units in J&K.
President CAPF Punjab, P.S. Sandhu emphasized the central government’s negligence towards the burning demands of Ex-Servicemen.
Additionally, General Secretary CPMF J&K UT, D.K Chauhan highlighted the imposition of maximum GST in the master canteen by the government and urged the Lt. Governor to reduce excise duty in J&K (UT), particularly for Ex-Servicemen of paramilitary forces.
At the conclusion of the event, district committees of the Ex-Central Paramilitary Force Welfare Association were formed with the consent of participants, under the supervision of stakeholders present, including Harbans Lal Sharma, Vice President (CPMF); Noor Muhammad, General Secretary District Samba; P.S. Sandhu, President Punjab Association; Nirmal Singh Mann, Comdet. Chairman (GSP); Manbir Katoch, National Spokesman (HP); M.L. Thakur, Chief Petron Ex-CAPF (HP); Sajawal Shah, District Kupwara; Naseer Ahmed Khan, District Baramulla; Mohd Ashraf Lone, District Bandipora; and Farooq Ahmed, District Anantnag.
