Jammu, Sept 27 :
With the Supreme Court also having declared the issuance of Aadhar cards to foreign immigrants as illegal in its historic Judgement announced yesterday, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today sought a high level probe into the illegitimate settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu and provision of all facilities to them including Ration cards, Power and Water connections, admission in govt Schools besides Aadhar and even state subject (PR) certificates. He said that illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the city of temples had sparked massive outrage in Jammu with people questioning the criminal acquiescence of successive govts in the matter.
He said that while the BJP and Congress indulged in a volley of recriminations accusing each other of having settled them illegally, the fact of the matter was that both were equally responsible for their unlawful settlement in Jammu.
He was addressing a public meeting in New Rehari, Ward No. 8 followed by interactive sessions with public in Ward No. 21 and 22 where election offices were opened in the presence of party candidates Rajinder Gupta, Mrs. Swaran Kanta and Suresh Sharma.
Describing the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis as the biggest threat to the security of Jammu besides its identity and culture, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that both Congress and BJP owed in explanation to the Dogra land over the issue. While the Congress allowed their illegal settlement in Jammu for vote bank politics, the BJP rule ensured them all facilities so as to keep their Kashmir Masters in good humour. And in the process the sentiments of Dogras were ruthlessly trampled upon by these opportunist political parties”, remarked Singh.
Alleging total disregard for the separations of the people of Jammu by BJP, Mr. Singh said that its leaders had given the Jammuites a shocker of their lifetimes by their cowardly surrenders over almost all Jammu based issues.”Our youth were given a step motherly treatment in saffron rule with a negligible share falling in their Kitty in employment. The development projects came to a standstill. The allocation of funds remained horribly disproportionate. Our soldiers were humiliated and belittled.
And even our self respect was bartered by these leaders for power sake”, remarked Harsh. “Will you vote for those who betrayed you? Will you support those who repeatedly hurt yourself pride and dignity? Or will you vote for those who have launched a relentless crusade for the cause of Jammu and are relentlessly fighting anti Jammu forces without any fear or consideration? Questioned Harsh, adding that NPP shall continue its struggle for justice to Jammu irrespective of the results of the Municipal elections.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Mrs. Manju Singh, Capt. Anil Gour, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Suresh Sharma, Partap Singh, Rajiv Mahajan, Sanjeev Sharma, Kirti Sangotra, Aman besides others.
