After using a casteist slur in the make-up video, Munmun Dutta is in legal trouble. As a case has been registered against the actress under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Rajat Kalsan, convenor of the National Alliance for Dalit Human Rights, filed an FIR complaint in Hansi, Haryana against Munmun.Well, all this started when she insulated a particular community in her make-up video. Her casteist slur took the internet by storm and #ArrestMunmunDutta started trending on Twitter. After facing criticism the actress also shared an apology note but nothing worked.She wrote in her apology statement, ”This is in reference to a video that I posted yesterday where one word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent of insult, intimidate, humiliate or hurt anyone’s feelings. Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of its meaning, I immediately took the part down. I have the utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to our society or nation. I sincerely would like to apologize to every single person who has been unintentionally hurt by the usage of the word and I sincerely regret the same.”Currently, Munmun Dutta is acting in the Sab TV sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and also running a Youtube channel.
