New Delhi, August 17
A major fire broke out at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday, fire officials said.
Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg (DFS) said 34 fire tenders were trying to put out the flames. There are no reports of casualties so far.
The officer said that his department got a call about a fire near the emergency ward of the hospital at 4.50 pm. The fire department is evacuating people from the building, he said.
Dark plumes of smoke were seen billowing out of the the premier health institute.
Former union minister Arun Jaitley is currently being treated at the hospital.
