First Aid Training Programme for Emergency Response Team of J&K State inaugurated

Indian Red Cross Society, J&K State Branch today inaugurated three (03) days (16 hrs) First Aid Training Programme for the State Level Emergency Response Team. Under this program 45 participants from different districts of J&K State are being trained on Basic First Aid in phased manner. 21 Red Cross volunteers from different districts of Jammu Region are participating in this training.
The objective of this training is to enhance the capacity of the volunteers who shall act as First Responders in times of emergencies and educate the community to make them more resilient to disasters to which the community is vulnerable. The aim of training is to reduce disaster risks and build resilient communities across the State.
On the sidelines, IRCS, J&K State also celebrated International Disaster Reduction Day 2018 by conducting various sessions for the volunteers on Disaster Management at IRCS, Regional Branch, Jammu. Volunteers were also briefed about the Disaster Management Plans framed at National, State, District, Village and Family Level. Mock Drill remained a part of this activity.
This program is being held under the supervision of Dr. Itinderpal Singh Bali, Master Trainer, Mr. Imran Muzaffar, Program Manager from Indian Red Cross Society and Mr. Manash Mohan from the ICRC and the resource persons& State Level First Aid Instructors from IRCS, State Branch, Regional & District Branch Jammu.
