It is pertinent to mention that Bunty Cartoonist holds the credit of curating the 1st ever International exhibition of cartoons which was organized both in Jammu and Srinagar under the aegis of Indian Council for Cultural Relations. The focus of workshop is to attract the interest of children towards this greatest art of cartooning which can magically enhance the creativity and imagination of the children.
Speaking about the art of cartooning, the Director of Natrang, Padamshree Balwant Thakur said that cartoons have always attracted the child’s eye and has been an important part in enhancing a child’s imagination. Cartoons have been seen as ‘humour with a pinch of salt’ that not only is a creative medium to communicate but also a visual semiotics and visual persuasion medium. In today’s world when majority of children’s time is being eaten up by the smart phones/TVs and they pushing themselves to mental blockades, such participation will certainly help them in coming out of that caged life to a world of innovation and creativity.
