Makar Sankranti, the festival that marks the end of winter and the beginning of longer days, holds a special place in the heart of actress Karishma Tanna. Karishma recently opened up about her love for this harvest festival and the cherished traditions she associates with it. “It’s the simplicity and universality of Makar Sankranti that makes it unique,” she shared in a recent interview. “It’s a time to step back, appreciate the small joys of life, and celebrate togetherness.” For Karishma, the essence of Sankranti lies in its timeless traditions. Flying kites, a highlight of the festival, is something she eagerly looks forward to each year. “As a child, I would spend hours perfecting my kite-flying skills,” she reminisced with a smile. “Even today, I love the thrill of seeing my kite soar high against the clear blue sky.” From Uttarayan in Gujarat to Pongal in Tamil Nadu and Lohri in Punjab, the diversity of traditions adds to its charm.  “Makar Sankranti is a reminder to cherish the little things that bring joy and to embrace the spirit of togetherness,” she concluded.
