Follow COVID-19 SOPs sacredly to overcome alarming situation: Nitish

Bharatiya Janata Party’s J&K unit executive member Nitish Mahajan has appealed to the people across the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to follow the COVID-19 SOPs sacredly and get themselves vaccinated against the deadly Coronavirus immediately. Mahajan made this appeal while chairing a meeting of youth activists and workers at Gandhi Nagar Constituency here today.
Chairing a meeting of youth at Gandhi Nagar constituency, Nitish Mahajan said that the nation as well as the J&K Union Territory is facing an alarming situation as the highest spike in positive COVID-19 cases has been witnessed during the past few months. With the nation going through the second wave of Coronavirus onslaught having already crossed 90000 cases and J&K seeing the highest spike of this year till now, he emphasized upon the need for exercising utmost self precaution which has become inevitable to protect every individual, the society and the nation from the second wave of Coronavirus.
Terming the situation as highly alarming, Mahajan appealed to the general public to follow all Covid SOPs and make every effort at individual level to make masses aware about the necessity to take all precautions by wearing masks, using sanitizers and maintaining social distancing. He also emphasized upon avoiding social gatherings and parties till the situation improves. People must also abhor visiting hotels and restaurants and other public eateries unless necessary and if so they must strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol and safety rules. Moreover, the local authorities should maintain a strict vigil and take immediate action against the SOPs violators, he said.
Asserting that the Central Government has made all appropriate arrangements for vaccination and to deal with emergency situations, he said that adequate stocks of the COVID-19 vaccine have been made available in J&K by the Government. He also made a fervent appeal to the people above 45 years of age to go for vaccination to their nearest vaccination centres.
