A four days’ Lithography Workshop organized by Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu, University of Jammu in its premises, concluded here today. A valedictory programme was organized where Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest. Prof. Manoj Dhar appreciated the faculty for organizing this kind of workshop at IMFA and participation of the students and staff in the workshop. He assured that that all possible support shall be extended in providing infrastructure facilities to the Institute and asked the concerned officials to submit the proposals. He exhorted that the students should visit places of art in the country from time to time and asked the Principal to submit proposals for undertaking such programmes for the benefit of the students.
Prof. Manoj Dhar gave away the certificates to the participants of the workshop. The list of participating artists and students includes Dr. Milan Sharma, Ankush Kesar, Rachita Dutta, Bharti Rani, Sheetal Sharma, Aman Verma, Aziz Verma, Ankush Kumar, Saurav Kumar, Vikas Choudhary, Payal Aggarwal and Reema. An exhibition of lithography prints created in the workshop and the prints of Dushyant Patel, was also inaugurated by Prof. Manoj Dhar.
It may be mentioned here that Lithography is a time tested technique in printmaking. The art of printmaking differentiates itself from the other mediums of visual art in the means of producing multiple images of an art work at the same time.
Earlier, Prof. Satnam Kour, Principal, IMFA welcomed the chief guest with flower bouquet and extended welcome to the invited artists, staff and students of the Institute. She gave a brief resume of the art activities/ art workshops organized by the Institute during the session. A slide show portraying these programmes was also screened on this occasion. She also thanked Dr. Milan Sharma, the coordinator of the programme and the resource person & expert Dushyant Patel to conduct the workshop successfully.
