Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Hussain, today provided free aids and appliances to about 46 specially abled children at Government High School, Chanderkot.
The function was organised under SMAGRA SIKSHA abhiyan in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) and Education department.
The event, organised under the supervision of Director SMAGRA SIKSHA, Arun Manhas, was also attended by Chief Education Officer Ramban, AH Fani and other officers and officials.
These 46 beneficiaries from Batote, Ramban and Gool Education Zones were given wheelchairs, Artificial Limbs, CP Chairs, Hearing Aids, Smart Canes, Ankle Foot Orthosis, Crutches, Elbow Crutches and Braile Kits.
Meanwhile, about 65 children having poor eyesight were examined who will be given spectacles later.
Pertinently, similar camp was organised at Government High School, Ramsu for the beneficiaries of Banihal, Khari and Ukhral Educational Zones. In past two days, about 270 children were assessed, of which, 98 were given aids and appliances.
On the occasion, a local visually impaired girl Nusrat entertained the children, their parents and staff with her Bollywood songs.
