Free Eye Check up Camp organised by Salal Power Station

Salal Power Station of NHPC Limited under its CSR Programme organized an Eye Check up Camp at Zorawar Hospital, Jyotipuram today. The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Ajay Nanda, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance & Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, CA & PD, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation by lighting of the Holy Lamp in association with Sh. A.G.Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station by lighting the Holy Lamp in the presence of Sh. M.G.Ghai, Chief Engineer (Civil), A.Z.Geelani, Chief Engineer (Electrical), Sh. Navdeep Singh, Commandent CISF, Dr. R.D.Sood & his team, Dr. Ajit Gupta, Sr. DCMO, other Senior Officers, employees, ladies from NHPC Family, CISF Personnel and locals.
In his address, Sh. Nanda appreciated the initiatives taken by Salal Power Station under the leadership of Sh. Ansari, General Manager. Sh Nanda recalled a number of initiatives taken by Salal in all the sectors like Education, Peripheral development of the area, Road Connectivity, Construction of Foot Bridges and above all campaigns launched by Salal Power Station towards success of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
Speaking on the occasion Sh. Ansari said that eyes are the precious organs of the body as they are windows to the world and thus every care should be taken to keep them healthy.
He further said that cataracts, very common among older people, affect vision and are the leading cause of blindness in the world today. He requested Dr. Sood to identify the patients requiring cataract surgeries to be done in due course for better outcome of the camp.
Dr. R.D.Sood, Sr. Ophthalmologist and his team from Jammu checked up the patients in the Camp. Patients requiring Cataract Surgery were also identified during the camp for taking up surgeries in due course by NHPC. NHPC Doctors associated the visiting team to facilitate smooth conduct of the Eye Camp.
Sh. Nanda and Sh. Ansari also interacted with the visiting patients and asked about their ailments. He advised the patients to take benefit of the camp wherein NHPC is going to conduct Cataract Surgeries by Phaco Emulsification, a very advanced and successful technology in cataract surgery.
322 people from various villages surrounding Salal Power Station had been registered for check -up.
