Sidharth Malhotra starrer upcoming film ‘Shotgun Shaadi’ has been in the news for quite some time. The film is mainly making headlines in regards to the leading lady of the film. Earlier, it was reported that Shraddha Kapoor and then Kriti Sanon were approached for the film. Later it was even reported that Parineeti Chopra might team up with Sidharth Malhotra for the film.
ow according to the latest news, Fatima Sana Shaikh has been approached for the same. A close source to a portal revealed that Parineeti had loved the script but could not make up to the film due to her busy schedule. Due to Parineeti’s issue with allocating dates, the source revealed that the makers have now roped in Fatima Sana Shaikh for the role. However official announcements about the same are yet to be made.
‘Shotgun Shaadi’ is reportedly based on the issue of groom kidnapping in Bihar. Apparently, Sidharth will be seen playing the role of a thug who kidnaps men and forcefully gets them married. Karan Johar is giving newcomers Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria a dream debut with ‘Student of the Year 2’. While Ananya is already pretty famous, it seems like ‘SOTY 2’ is the perfect launch pad for dancer and ex VJ Tara too.
According to reports, the diva has already bagged her next film, this time opposite Shahid Kapoor no less! Apparently, the movie will be a remake of the Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’, which earned a lot of critical acclaim. Of course, the film will be redone in order to match North Indian sensibilities. Tara will reportedly play Shahid’s love interest in the film. According to a report by an entertainment portal, Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor were strong contenders for the role. Soon Tara also joined the league. A source close to them revealed that Shahid was very particular of having a new actress in the film. He wanted someone who looks promising but is yet to establish herself in the industry. Hence the makers found that Tara will be a perfect fit for the role.
However, at the moment nothing is confirmed from the makers or from the actress herself.
