Safapura Volleyball Club was declared champion by defeating Eagle Volleyball club Fathepura in close neck to neck fight in sets (3-0 ) score.. 26-24,25-22,25-21. .. In all .8.teams drawn from different parts of Ganderwal distt participated in the championship. Principal Govt college of Physical Education.. Ganderbal.. was the Chief Guest, distributed prizes trophies/individual prizes /utility gifts to winner and runner up teams besides officials of the tournament on the occasion. The chief guest expressed his gratitude to Organsiors especially to officials of Volleyball Association of J&K Mr Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive officer, Mohd. Tariq Joint secretary & others for selecting his institution which is primarily meant for promotion of Sports and physical Education of youth .
He also assured his full cooperation to organizers for such events in future as well. The 2 -day championship organized by Ganderbal DisttVolleyball Association under the ageis of VOLLEYBALL Association ofJ&K sponsored by J&K SPORTS council concluded today. . Mr Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive officer & Mohd.Tariq Joint secretary VAJK honoured the chief guest by presenting a momento on the occasion. Amongst dignitariesDr Mustaq Ahmad,Irshad Ahmed MaqboolAhmad ..Khawar Ahmed were present on the occasion.. Giving an account of Volleyball activities in Kashmir Valley Mr Magotra disclosed that in the month of October ,VAJK has organized 3 main events, one at Bejbehara titled ,South Kashmir VOLLEYBALL Championship wherein total 12 teams 8 in boys and 4 in girls sections drawn from Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag Distts participated.
The Minister of youth Services and Sports JKUT Mr Satish Sharma who was the Chief Guest ,declared this 3-day Mega opened. Apart from this the Association conducted 2-day Srinagar district Volleyball Championship in the Srinagar University campus ,Ganderbal district event is 3rd in series conducted by Volleyball Association ofJ&K. Not only this we plan to organize Baramulla & Kulgam district Volleyball Championships in first fortnight of November 2024.
