JAMMU, Sept 18:
Government College for Women (GCW) Parade and Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua won women and women’s Kho-Kho titles respectively in the ongoing inter-college competitions of University of Jammu on the campus, here today.
In women’s final, GCW Parade defeated PG Departments 3-2 while in men’s title clash, GDC Kathua outplayed GDC Samba 8-7 by one point. The technical penal comprised Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Anil Kumar, Dheeraj, Jagdev Singh and Gagan Kumar.
The title trophies presented to the winning teams by special guest, Dean Sciences, Prof Naresh Padha.
He was accompanied by Director, Sports and Physical Education, JU, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba. Also present were Mahesh Sharma, Balbir Chib, Suman Lata, Dr. Brij Baloria, Ramesh Mangotra, Munish Charak, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas Karlopia and Gagan Kumar.
BADMINTON: The combined side of PG Departments and GCW Gandhi Nagar among seven teams today qualified for the next round of the ongoing inter-college women’s badminton competition at Gymnasium Hall on the campus today.
Among others present were Mahesh Sharma, Jatinder Singh, Trikuta College, Neha Gupta, Sudesh Bhagat, Vikas Karlopia, Jai Bharat, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Sanjay Singh Sambyal.
The Results: PG Department beat GCW Kathua 2-0; GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GDC Jindrah 2-0; GCW Udhampur beat GDC Nowshera 2-0; GDC Akhnoor beat Trikuta Degree College 2-0; GGM Science College beat GDC Kathua 2-0; GCW Parade beat GDC RS Pura 2-0; ASCOMS beat GCET 2-0.
Matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Ravish Vaid, Sanjeev Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Shivam, Jeevan Bhagat and Vikram Jamwal.
