Government Girls High School Sohanjana dominated in the day-long inter-school Tug of War competition of district Jammu, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) as part of the annual calendar of activities at Government Boys High School Jammu Cantonment, here.
The school boys and girls teams bagged three out of the four titles decided today. While boys from the school bagged under-14 title, girls secured made it a clean sweep winning under-14 and under-17 finals.
In all, 160 boys and girls, representing various educational institutions of Jammu, took part in this competition.
Earlier, in under-14 boys final, GHS Sohanjana beat Government Middle School Makwala in straight 2-0 games. Semifinals: GHS Sohanajana beat DBN Mubarak Mandi 2-0 while Government MS Makwal beat GHS Chak Largan 2-0.
Similarly, in under-17 boys title clash, Unique Public HSS Gadigarh emerged winner beating Government GHS Sohanajana 2-1. Semifinals: GHS Sohanjana bt DBN Mubarak Mandi 2-1; Unique Pubic School beat New Public Brilliant School 2-0.
The under-14 girls’ title again went to GHS Sohanajana, who trounced GMS Makwal 2-1 in the final. Semifinals: GHS Sohanajana bt DBN Mubarak Mandi 2-0; MS Makwal bt Unique Public School 2-0.
In under-17 girls’ final, GHSS Sohanajana beat New Public Brilliant School 2-1.
Semifinals: GHS Sohanajan bt DBN Mubarak Mandi 2-0; New Public Brilliant School bt Unique Public HSS Gadigarh 2-0.
The competition officiated by the technical penal including Ram Murti, Ravinder Singh, B.K. Bhat Vishal Malhotra and Jasvinder Kour.
Meanwhile, the inter-school district level Thai Boxing competition got underway at Shastri Memorial HSS Patoli Magotrian in under-17 and under-19 age categories of both boys and girls.
