GGM Science College celebrated the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas at its Campus to commemorate the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter – “Bhagwan Birsa Munda” and the contribution of other tribal freedom fighters. Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is a public celebration of the tribal community to the Indian Society and heritage in general.To ensure the sacrifices of these tribal unsung heroes, series of activities such as story writing competition, floral tribute etc were organized in GGM Science College w. effect from 15th November 2024.
Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the Institute, Faculty Members, Officers/Officials and Students offered floral tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the cultural, social, and historical significance of tribal communities in shaping the diversity of Indian society and their contributions to the freedom movement. Convener UGC Committee, Prof. Sunil Dutt also briefed Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s struggled life and dedication to the society. From an early age, he showed a strong sense of cultural pride and an interest in social justice. His family belonged to the Munda tribe, which is part of the larger Adivasi community in central India.
The events were organized by UGC Committee of the college under the overall supervision of Principal.Among others who were present in the events were Prof. Devinder Kumar Sharma, Dr. Bikhampal Singh, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Prof. Suresh Singh, Dr. Arun Sharma and Dr. Sumit Dubey.
