The Govt Higher Secondary School Mandal today organised a Parents Teachers meeting in the premises of the school, which was attended by large number of teachers, students and their parents.
The meeting was presided over by the School Principal Dr Anjana.
Dr Ashish Khajuria, who was the special invitee, while speaking during the course of the meeting, apprised the students and their parents of the affects of drugs being used by youths these days. He said that more deaths, illnesses and disabilities are associated with drug abuse than any other preventable health condition. Youths suffering from drug and alcohol addiction also have a higher risk of unintentional injuries, accidents and domestic violence incidents. Drugs that could possibly cause horrible problems are tobacco, alcohol, heroin and marijuana. The effects of these on the body vary greatly each with their own side effects. Dr Ashish therefore, advised the students to keep themselves away from such harmful drugs.
