UDHAMPUR, Oct 03:
Inter-district Divisional level girls (all age group) volleyball tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), got underway at Government Degree College grounds, here today.
Around 150 female spikers representing different districts of Jammu Division are taking part in this competition on knockout basis.
The competition was declared open by the SSP Udhampur, Rayees Mohd Bhat, who interacted with the young female volleyball players. Also present were District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sudesh Kumar, Principal PG College Boys Udhampur and Prof Udhay Bhanu.
Since the competition held on knock-out basis, the opening day witnessed semfinals in all three age groups. The Results: Under-19: Jammu bt Samba 2-0; Udhampur bt Kathua 2-0. Under-17: Jammu bt Poonch 2-0; Samba bt Udhampur 2-0. Under-14: Samba bt district Kathua 3-0; Jammu bt Rajouri 3-2.
