As part of YouTube’s ongoing mission to give everyone a voice, and show them the world, YouTube, along with Priyanka Chopra, Bhuvan Bam, Prajakta Koli, and Vidya Vox will be releasing a series of ads to highlight the importance of educating girls. Launched on the International Day of the Girl Child, the campaign is aims to generate awareness around the importance of girls’ education in India.Among a series of four ads running over the next several weeks, Priyanka Chopra, globally acclaimed actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, is breaking common stereotypes girls are used to hearing in the country today — “Ladkiyan zaada uchal kud nahin karte”, “Ladkiyan uchi avaaz main nahin bolti”, “Padhai main kya rakha hai, ghar hi toh sambhalna hai”, and ends with an appeal to give girls a chance at everything. Highlighting the cause and lending support to YouTube’s campaign, Priyanka Chopra has written a guest blog. Bhuvan Bam, Prajakta Koli and Vidya Vox (video coming soon) are also joining the cause with their ads focused on encouraging families to educate girls.
