Poonch Gladiator shall be playing against Poonch Royal in the final of the Volleyball League Tournament, organised by Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club at Degree College ground, here.
Earlier, in the last league match of the event, Poonch Royal defeated Poonch Thunder Bolt 3-2 (15-11, 15-13, 12-15, 14-15, 15-10) in a close and entertaining contest.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Operations, Munish Sharma was the special guest in today’s match, who interacted with the teams amidst message of adopting sports as a career.
He quoted the live example of international spiker, Saqlain Tariq, who rose from a modest beginning of a school level player from border town of Poonch to a professional sportsman. He also appreciated the role of chairman, Manjit Singh Club for promoting the game of Volleyball.
The Poonch Volleyball League is being played under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK).
