Financial Literacy Center, J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship ofSh. Janak Raj Angural organized Going Digital – financial literacy camp at village Dhan, Jammu under the Branch Office Jandrah. The programme was intended to widespread the knowledge regarding various financial products and the recent technological innovations in banking sector.
Upinder Sharma, Manager, Regional Office Jammu, spoke at length about the ongoing J&K Grameen Bank Festival Bonanza – 2018 with a special offer of rebate in rate of interest and no processing charges on car, consumer durable goods & two wheeler loans.The SHG and KCC loans amounting Rs. 20 lac were disbursed during the camp.
He also appreciated the efforts of HOD FIID & Incharge FLC Vipan Gupta for his tremendous efforts in wide spreading the national social security schemes .
He told the gathering about the latest developments in PMJDY like the overdraft amount raised to Rupees Ten thousand and the age limit to open a PMJDY account is also increased to 65 years and there will be no condition for Overdraft up to Rupees Two thousand plus the accidental insurance cover for new Rupay card holders has been raised from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh for the new PMJDY accounts opened after 28.08.2018.
Hundred percent claim settlement rate is already maintained by the bank and the nominee of the insured person get a financial aid of Rs. 2 lac.
Sahil Dogra, Branch Head, Jandrahinformed the masses about the benefits of social security schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana(PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana(APY).
Rohit Mahajan, ITDepartmentand Vicky Kumar, FI&I Departmentenlightened the participants about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, Adhaar based transactions etc. The thrust was also given on various IT products like RuPay cards, SMS Alerts, NEFT/ RTGS and Immediate Payment services (IMPS).
They also told them the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent person’s active in the market.
Besides the gathering, the other dignitaries of the area including former Sarpanchand Panchswere also present during the event.
