Gold medal winner women’s State Roll Ball team today called on the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Naseem Javed Chowdhary under the banner of J&K Roll Ball Association, here. The team, comprising of Simran Raina (Captain ), Ankita Chopra, Garvita Gupta, Mahima Khajuria, Ishita Singh, Ruhi Rajput, Suvidha Sarin, Aashima and Khushi Gupta felicitated by the Secretary and lauded the Association for extending equal opportunities to the women to excel in sports. He (Secretary) assured the team members that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically. He also assured that a separate Roll Ball Rink shall also be constructed for the budding players, a handout issued by the Association here today informed.
Pertinent to mention here that J&K Roll Ball women team emerged champion in the 15th National Roll Ball Championship held at Belgaum in Karnataka. In the final, J&K defeated fancied Maharashtra in a nail biting finish 2-1. And, enroute to finals, J&K outplayed Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh. Meanwhile, Chairman J&K Roll Ball Association, Anil Sharma congratulated he team for brining laurels to the State.
