Goldy Memorial cricket tournament a joint venture of mendhar gunners and goldy cricket committee mendhar today concluded here at the mendhar garrison, OP hill stadium mendhar.Indian army as per it ethos and tradition to inculcate sportsmanship, camaraderie and will to win conducted the ‘Goldy Memorial Cricket Tournament’ in coordination with mendhar cricket committee wef from16 Aug to 03 Sep 2021. This event was the second of its kind conducted by the mendhar gunners at the mendhar Garrison, OP Hill stadium.During the tournament, sensation cricket extravaganza witnessed the participation of 22 teams each striving hard to become the ‘Goldy Champ’. The tournament was played on a knock out basis. The first match of the tournament was played between Bedi Cricket Club and MCC on 16 Aug 2021 and the grand finale was played on 03 Sept 2021 between Five star and MCC. Team MCC has come out as ‘Goldy Champ’ defeating -Five Star by 7 runs.The event was also witnessed by sub-Divisional police officer (SDPO) mendhar zaheer abbas jafri (jkps), SDM Dr.sahil jandyal and BMO Dr.pervaiz ahmed khan.The Mendhar Gunners conveyed their wishes to the Mendhar cricket committee for the successful conduct of the event and laid emphasis on the importance of games and sports in our lives and the need to harness the potential of the youth of the present generation. Mendhar Gunners are of the firm belief that the Army and civil administration can together give a good and a stable platform to our youths and thus giving them a chance to contribute to the nation building.
