Jammu, Srinagar Airports receive 30 domestic flights with 3,870 passengers aboard

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has evacuated about 5,17,627 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 3,77,335 persons from other states and UTs including 934 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date. As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 4470 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from September 28 to September 29 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. Today no train arrived at Jammu. On day 128 of resumption of routine domestic operations in Jammu and Kashmir, 30 domestic flights with 3,870 passengers on board today arrived at Jammu and Srinagar Airports. A total of 1381 passengers aboard 10 regular commercial flights arrived at the Jammu Airport while 20 domestic flights with about 2489 passengers aboard landed at Srinagar Airport today. Pertinently, Jammu Airport Authorities have received a total of 1,125 domestic flights with 106,665 passengers while Srinagar Airport Authorities have received 1,835 domestic flights with 2,51,890 passengers since 25th of May till date.
Till date the government has brought back about 3806 passengers from various countries to the Union Territory through special evacuation flights in the wake of global pandemic till date.
After arrival, all the passengers were tested for the COVID-19 at both the airports amid strict observance of all necessary preventive protocols.
The Government has made elaborate arrangements for the arrival, screening, sampling and proper transportation of the passengers to the quarantine centers taking special care of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the Union Ministries of Civil Aviation and Health and Family Welfare.
