JAMMU, May 22:
Government High School (GHS) Nagrota bagged boys’ under-17 Rugby title after they beat the opponent in MIER BC Road, here 3-2 in inter-school district level competition of district Jammu held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Green Fields ground, here.
As per the reports reaching here, only two institutions turned up for the event this making it a one game event. Earlier, the competition in other disciplines of Hockey, Fencing, Football and Swimming in two age groups of under-14 and under-17 also started today at different venues, here.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued by the DYSS, around 900 young boys are taking part in this inter-school district level event. The competition declared open by district officer (DYSS) Jammu, Chanchal Kour.
The Results:
FOOTBALL: Under-14: MMS Indian Public School beat APS Sunjwan 2-0; KC Public School beat Alexander Memorial HSS 3-0; KC International beat Maharishi Vidya Mandir 2-0; JK Public School beat DPS 3-2 via tie-breaker; APS Ratnuchak beat MHAC Nagbani 6-5.
HOCKEY: Under-14: APS Miran Sahib beat APS Kaluchak 2-0; SOS beat Cybernetics Senior Secondary School, 2-0. Under-17: SOS beat Cybernetics Senior Secondary School 2-0; APS Kaluchak beat APS Jammu Cantonment 1-0.
