In order to mark the participation in 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural and in collaboration with NABARD has conducted 216Swachhata Hi Seva programmes across the state in various villages of the districts including Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Baramulla, Leh, Kargil and Kupwara.
On the 13th day of this Abhiyaan, Chairman Janak Raj Angural himself along with General Manager Romesh Vaid, departmental heads and all the officials of Head Office took initiative to clean the surroundings in order to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. He emphasized on taking efforts to fulfil the dream of Prime Minister Sh.Narendra Modi to make India clean and green before the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He told the media that the bank is contributing to its maximum possible extend tospread the awareness regarding sanitation and hygiene and to make the environment clean and green and about 216 Swachhta Hi Seva programmes have been conducted in span of 13 days by the various branches and offices of the bank. He thrusted on cleanliness as Clean & Green India will increase international tourism in the country which willstrengthen the Indian economy leading to development of the country. He further added that J&K Grameen Bank is and will always take a lead in all the initiatives of GOI be it Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan, VLPs , Financial Literacy week and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan etc.
Romesh Vaid, General Manager J&K Grameen Bank imparted knowledge regarding better sanitation practices like using a toilet, handwashing, health and hygiene awareness etc. The activities including cleaning of streets, drains and back alleys and waste collection drives in households and common or shared spaces are also conducted during the programmes.
He also said that Bank is making tremendous efforts to aware people about the benefits of clean surroundings and how it will also improve our health. Her also added that officials of the bank are organizing awareness camps on regular basis and also keeping their premises clean and green.
Vipan Gupta, HOD, Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank, said that every branch of J&K Grameen bank is conductingSwachhta Hi Seva Programme in their respective villages from 15thSeptember 2018 to 2nd October 2018 in which they arespreading awareness regarding the importance of clean environment and the various ways by which the surroundings can be kept clean and green. He added that our 216 branches and offices have conducted Swachhta Hi Seva Programmes till date and today 9 branches and offices have conducted such programmes at various locations including Head Office Jammu, Branches namely Rajbagh, Raya, Phallain, Bhawani, Sialsui & Chandak in Jammu Region and Tangmarg and Tilgam in Kashmir region.
