Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the chairmanship of Sh.Janak Raj Anguraland in collaboration with NABARD organized sixFinancial Literacy Awareness Programmes among unbanked villages of Branch Offices Peerniya, Pringal, Arnia, Dool, Khanpeth& Mirgund under District- Baramulla, Jammu & Bandipora. Simultaneously, thirty six village level programmes were also held at different villages under that many branch offices under district Bandipora, Baramulla, Jammu, Kathua, Kupwara, Rajouri & Samba.
Kuldeep Raj, Sarpanch of village Adlehar (Arnia) one of the chief guestsappreciatedthe good work done by Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department in Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion activities in the State and for which J&K Grameen Bank was also awarded in State Credit Seminar 2019 organised by NABARD.He then impressed upon the gathering to make best utilisation of banking services for their benefit and overall development.
Guldev Raj, ex BDO, the Guest of Honour on the occasionappreciated efforts of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to spread financial inclusion in every nook and corner of the state.
Sunil Kundan, Branch Head, Arnia, J&K Grameen Bank, highlightedthe benefits of digital banking and cash less economy.Hegive a detailed overview of various lending and deposit schemes of the Bankoffered at lucrative interest rates. He also highlighted that insurance of all types is available at bank branches which the customers can avail in a hassle free manner.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Education and NRLM alsoattended the programmebesides the huge gathering of students and farmers of the villages.
Branch Heads at their respective locations spread the message of financial literacy and awareness among the population of remote villages. The participation in these programmes was in hundreds in each case. The staff members of all these Branches handled the queries of the unbanked people and provided them the comprehensive financial solutions related to deposits, loans and other services like internet, mobile banking.
They enlightened people and students about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bankcheques, Use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, and Aadhaar based transactions etc.
They stressed for availing benefits of bank schemes available in a hassle free manner and presented the vote of thanks.
