In a significant show of strength, workers of the Congress party organized a massive rally in support of senior party leader Satish Sharma. The “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” rally, which spanned from Akhnoor to Khour, saw a turnout of approximately 7,000 to 8,000 participants in over 500 vehicles, demonstrating widespread backing for Sharma.
The rally, which took two hours to pass through Khour Bazaar due to the large number of participants, was marked by enthusiastic chants in support of the Congress party and Sharma.
Notably, a substantial number of women, along with children, youth, and elderly residents, joined the event, offering their blessings and support to Sharma.
The locals expressed deep affection for Sharma, linking their support to the legacy of his late father, former MP Madan Lal Sharma, who was remembered for his contributions to the region.Residents of the Chhamb Assembly constituency emphasized the significance of the seat becoming unreserved after 28 years, voicing a strong demand for Satish Sharma to be the Congress candidate. They praised Sharma as a well-educated and compassionate leader who understands the struggles of the poor and works tirelessly for their welfare.
During a public support event in the Khour area following the rally, thousands of workers and local residents reaffirmed their support for Sharma.
Prominent Congress figures such as B.D. Sharma, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Prabhu Singh, and others were also present, further bolstering the gathering’s momentum.
The local community urged the State Congress Committee and the All India Congress Committee to consider Satish Sharma for the Chhamb Assembly seat, citing his strong connection with the people and his commitment to continuing his father’s legacy.
