The Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Jammu President Mr. Choudhary Nazakat Khatana in press release at Jammu condemned the illegal demolition of houses at Sidhra near Golf Club. The Jammu district administration and Jammu Development Authority (JDA), assisted by police and paramilitary forces, razed nearly 150 structures and demolished the houses of Muslim households early in 4:30am without giving any notice or intimation.
It was surprise for the people being unaware of this instant operation by Jammu Administration as most of them were sleeping in their houses at that time. All residents came out in panic and also showed some resistance but were stopped by well equipped police and CRPF force. He also questioned of people who have been settled at Tawi Vihar Gokha Nagar. He questioned the Higher Authorities why Muslim areas are always being targeted. A same illegal and inhuman demolition case of muslim Graveyard in RS Pura is an example of targeting Muslims where the said graveyard of about 17 kanals has been turned into playground which is a grave concern for all. I appeal all the responsible authorities to take strict action against culprits. He warned the JDA and District Administration Jammu not to become rude & inhuman against poor Muslims in future otherwise there will be mass agitation in the Jammu, consequences arising thereof. Many persons who were present in protest include: Ch. Aslam, Molvi Abass, Ch.Ali Hussain, Showkat Ahmed, Liyaqat Chow dary, Ch. Siraju and others.
